About us

The Utah Somos Foundation (SOMOS) is a nonprofit organization organized 20+ years ago and has served hundreds of Latino and Hispanic students across the state.

Founding

In 2002, the Utah Somos Foundation was established by seven Board Members of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Mission to Invest

The founding members realized that investing in education and mentoring for Utah’s Latino community was key to opening opportunities to participate in Utah’s thriving sectors.

Goal

It is our continued goal to cultivate a network of skilled, educated, and diverse leaders to assist in the future social and economic development of the Latino community and Utah overall.

Since then, SOMOS has strived to support the community as a legacy scholarship foundation that empowers Latino and Hispanic students to embrace leadership and collaboration. We advance our efforts in the community through scholarships, mentorship, and networking.
